Falling asleep on a recliner sofa is better than sleeping on a regular sofa and waking up with a cramped neck. Once you've felt the ultimate relaxation and luxury that comes with a reclining sofa, you will never go back to that uncomfortable couch again!
Are you thinking of purchasing one of those so-called power recliners and chairs? Perhaps you have a senior living with you in your home or someone else in your family is experiencing severe back pains or hip problems. Maybe nobody in your home needs it yet but it's a good thing that you are considering the idea of buying these recliners that lift. After all, you never know what's going to happen in the near future. One of your elderly relatives may pay a visit and stay for a while or you may suffer an injury on the leg or back areas, preventing you from standing up (after being seated) without experiencing pain or difficulties.
On a regular sofa, one typically sits at a 90 degree angle. This is stiff, rigid, and doesn't promote relaxation. To settle in, you will have to put your feet up on the couch or on the coffee table. The backing of the sofa is not high enough or comfortable enough to cradle your head. Also, a regular sofa will not be comfortable for everyone because of size. A smaller person sitting on a deep couch will feel uncomfortable because their feet will be hanging off the edge if they settle in to relax. A taller person on a small couch will feel awkward, as if they don't have enough space to settle in.
